About
Therapy offers a space for healing, growth, and change. I honor the knowledge and wisdom you bring from your experiences. My role is to partner with you to explore what is and is not working for you, understanding that there may be personal and systemic barriers to living the life you want. I approach therapy from a variety of perspectives, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Relational Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. In addition, I am advanced trained in the trauma modality Accelerated Resolution Therapy. In practice, this looks like prioritizing a strong therapeutic relationship, offering tools to reframe patterns of thinking, creating positive behavior change, exploring alternatives to stories that may be causing you harm, attending to the mind body connection, and increasing mindfulness and self-compassion.
I work with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, phobias and trauma histories. I especially enjoy serving the LGBTQQIP2SAA population. Some of my clients are navigating new aspects of identity, life transitions, perfectionism, or relationship concerns (inclusive of ENM and kink). Additionally, if you are seeking stage 2 DBT, were once saddled with the "gifted and talented" label, or hope your therapist will get some nerdy references, I may be a good fit.
Some identities I hold are cis-queer femme. I'm fat bodied and practice from a Health at Every Size perspective. I recognize my privileged identities, such as race, and strive to bring cultural humility and a justice framework in my practice.
