About
Whether you are curious to learn more about you due to crisis or managing longer term mental/chemical health concerns, my space is here for you. Our work will begin with warmth and compassion as we explore what is happening now, ways your past might impact you, and where you want to be. Using humor, curiosity and finding ways for self-judgments to step aside or share space, we’re better able to see what could be true for each of us. I strive to build a trusting and collaborative therapy space, which I believe will empower you to be the authentic you that your younger self and/or current you know you to be. The work we do may include observing thoughts, finding ways to be present in your body, and better understanding why or how things happen in your body. I also suggest reading and other exercises to try outside of session to better understand what fits your life best. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, substance use, childhood and family of origin trauma, gender and sexuality exploration, gender affirming letter writing, and internalized oppressions occurring at intersections in our identities.
I am a white, able bodied, transgender guy who “grew up with cornfields in every direction,” (Chris Housman, “Blueneck”), and began thriving when I moved to the Twin Cities metro. I have firsthand and clinical experience navigating gender identity exploration and expression from a young age, through adulthood, with insights into rural and metro impacts on individuals. It is never too late to be who you really are, and I invite you to session with me to see what’s possible for you.
