About

The best indicator of healing in therapy is the quality of the working relationship. I live by these words by offering a safe space for clients to unmask and encourage their needs to be known. Often people are sharing their most vulnerable moments in the four walls of my office and I see it as my duty to honor their experiences with curiosity and gentleness. As a therapist I’m not shy about letting patients know I have personal experience with mental health, addiction, and gender expansiveness. My favorite personality traits clients will likely notice in session are humor, creativity, and honesty. The modalities I use are narrative therapy, narrative exposure therapy (trained), ACT, IFS (trained), parts work, DBT (certified), somatic processing, harm reduction, cultural-relational, and cultural humility.

A main focus in my practice is helping clients recognize old stories they have held on to for survival which add to suffering and helping them visualize a new story which better aligns with the life they want to live. I believe finding self-love is possible in the wake of trauma and community is one of the most helpful remedies. I acknowledge systemic oppression and the conditions we live under as barriers which can overshadow our power to heal. As a clinician, I resist pathologizing normative responses to injustice. I am also a body neutral, fat positive, and sex positive therapist who recognizes our relationship with our bodies is inextricably linked to mental health challenges.

When I’m not working I am likely spending time with friends and family, cooking, taking my dog to the dog park, watching my favorite tv show, or seeing live music. I look forward to consulting with anyone who believes I may be a good match to work with them on their healing journey.
